Accuracy matters on a site that readers use to make decisions about solar systems, vehicles, loans and investments. This corrections and updates policy explains how GreenNewsDesk handles errors, how we keep guides current, and how you can tell us when something looks wrong. It works alongside our editorial policy.
What Counts as an Error
We treat the following as errors that we fix: a wrong figure, price, date or unit; an outdated rule or rate described as current; a broken or misleading calculation; a misattributed source; a broken link; and any statement that a reader can show to be inaccurate. Differences of opinion or preference are not errors, but we are happy to hear them.
How to Report a Mistake
Email the editor at Adam@rankmunk.com or use the contact page. Please include the article title or link, the sentence you believe is wrong, and a source that supports your correction, such as an official notification or a manufacturer page. A source helps us check and fix the problem faster.
What We Do After a Report
- We read the report and check it against primary sources, such as government notifications and official documents.
- If the report is correct, we update the article and recheck related articles that repeat the same fact.
- For a significant change, such as a changed tax rate or a corrected price that affects a decision, we add a short note in the article that explains what changed.
- If the report is not correct, we reply with the source that supports our figure where possible.
How We Keep Guides Current
Some topics change quickly. Prices of solar systems and electric vehicles, GST rates, state incentives, subsidy schemes and SEBI or CCPA rules can all change within months. We review high-traffic and fast-moving guides on a regular schedule, and we also review any guide when a major rule or price change is announced. When we cannot confirm the current figure, we say so and point readers to the official source.
Articles With Estimates
Where an article gives an estimate, such as a payback period or running cost, we state the assumptions. These numbers depend on your location, tariff, usage and the quotes you receive, so please confirm them before you decide. Our tools, such as the solar panel savings calculator, work the same way.
